Clinical Grant Fund
Objective:
The purpose of the Clinical Grant Fund is to support the continued development, adoption, integration and innovation of clinical telehealth applications and programs in Alberta.
Clinical Grant Fund Investment Priorities
The Clinical Grant Fund is designed to provide seed funding for telehealth projects. This competitive garnt program invites applicants to submit proposals that are primarily focussed on clinical telehealth services, but also address one or more or all of the challenges and priorities described above (for detailed descriptions of Strategic Activities and Action Plans refer to the Alberta Telehealth Business Plan 2006-2009).
Priority is given to projects that identify new and innovative clinical services; respond to access needs of rural, isolated and disadvantaged communities and citizens; respond to priority needs identified by aboriginal communities or foster partnerships and collaboration between several health regions and cross sector collaboration.
Previously funded projects can submit proposals to extending original projects to new communities or expanding clinical services. As with all proposals, a rationale or justification has to accompany an extension or expansion proposal.
Sucessful applicants are chosen using a single coordinated application process designed to allocate Clinical Grant Fund (Alberta Health and Wellness) and Canada Health Infoway investment (contingent on availability of eligible matching funding).
